ក្មេងប្រុសកម្ពុជាពីរនាក់ កំពុងលីត្រីប្រានៅតាមបណ្តោយដងទន្លេសាបក្នុងឆ្នាំ ២០០២។ ទោះបីត្រីជាចំណែកដ៏សំខាន់មួយ នៃរបបអាហារសម្រាប់ប្រជាជនកម្ពុជាក៏ដោយ ក៏ប៉ុន្តែទំនប់វារិអគ្គិសនី និងការធ្វើអាជីវកម្មយ៉ាងធ្ងន់ធ្ងរលើប្រភពធនធានមច្ឆជាតិ បានធ្វើឱ្យកំណើនត្រីប្រានៅក្នុងទន្លេមេគង្គធ្លាក់ចុះទាបយ៉ាងខ្លាំង។
