On January 21, 2022, Aii Language Center, the leading educational institution in Cambodia celebrated the 17th anniversary of its creation and contribution to Cambodia’s education and human resource development.

To be able to survive for so many years and still maintain its key role in the field is not an ordinary achievement, considering that Aii was founded in 2005 with only 5 staff and 45 students. Over the year, the center has been growing exponentially over the years, even amid a hard time.

Today, Aii has over 7,000 students and 1400 academic and supportive staff, who are working and studying over its 7 campuses, thus making it one of the biggest educational service providers in the country.

Aii Language Center offers a series of English, Chinese and Thai language training programs and plans to bring more foreign language programs in the future. It also homes an official TOEFL iBT Exam Center and TESOL House, a UK-accredited English teacher training center.

Neak Okhna Dr. Mengly J. Quach, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Aii Language Center, says the speed at which Aii Language Center has been growing is exponential, which allows the school to contribute substantially to the Kingdom’s human capital development.

“When Aii set foot in Cambodia 17 years ago, we believe that it will grow, and as of today, we see that it is true, as Aii has had more than 50,000 students, who are able to speak English, Chinese, or Thai,” he says.

The well-known public health and education expert adds that the 17-year-journey is both long and challenging, but thanks to the diligence and commitment of its staff, Aii is able to achieve its fame today.

“I believe that Aii will be here permanently to continue to provide language education which Cambodia and Cambodians need,” he says.

“In the 21st century, to catch up with our international neighbors, you shall need to be multilingual, which will give you advantages in communication, trades, and politics.

These language skills will bring Cambodia to another level.”

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, which has hit Cambodia and caused its education sector to struggle in the past two years, Aii has been playing a leading role in the new trend of distant learning, with its effective and efficient online learning methods.

According to Mr. Sophea M. Lay, President of Aii Language Center, the school’s success in the “new normal” learning is the fruit of contributions from all stakeholders, from teachers to parents.

“On the occasion of our 17th anniversary, I would like to express my appreciation toward our teachers and staff who have displayed hard work and commitment to education development, especially in the past two years of the COVID-19 pandemic,” he says.

“I also would like to express gratitude to our students’ parents for their cooperation to ensure that their children have been able to receive the best learning experience during a hard time.”

Aii Language Center, along with its sister company American Intercon School, is a Mengly J. Quach Education (MJQE) subsidiary.
